Dates Plantation

With the dua and raza Mubarak of Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS) an exhibition by the name of "Uyoono Hasanate Amalil Khubz" was displayed near Raudat Tahera in May, 2014. In this exhibition Burhani Foundation (India) had a stall dedicated to ‘Date Palm Planting’. The aim of having this stall was to inform people on how to go about date palm planting in India. It was aimed at encouraging people to grow date palms and gain not only the material benefits of doing so but also the khushi mubarak of Aqa Moula TUS.

The exhibition was open for 22 days and in this time an estimated 10 thousand people learned about dates: their nutritional benefits, stages of growth as seen in the laboratory according to Indian climatic and soil conditions and the process of planting them outside. They were invited to recall the last acts of Imam Husain’s (AS), (grandson of Prophet Mohammed SAW) life when he sat against a date palm thereby giving his blessing to the tree before his martyrdom. They were informed about Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (RA) and Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s (TUS) affinity for date palm planting and how date cultivation could also be a profitable enterprise.

There was a good response and many wanted to learn more about it. As it was a completely new concept to many people they were provided with verbal instructions as well as brochures and support contact numbers. Lots of people expressed a desire to buy date plants and cultivate them after considering the conditions that prevail where they live and were asked to contact the BFI office when they were ready to do so. All the visitors were offered dates as they left the stall.
